TensorFlow GPU problems

Currently, in our standard setup (using the hatch dev environment), tensorflow fails when run with GPU/CUDA, at home and at university. The reasons are not clear to me yet, but it looks like some installation/setup problem. Details to follow (if someone else also experiences problems, please contribute!).
